"Proud Veteran"
South Plainfield - Felix J. "Pat" Ferrante, 88, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, February 7, 2007.
Born in New York City, he had resided in South Bound Brook and Plainfield before settling to South Plainfield, 50 years ago.
He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, proudly participating in the Battle of the Bulge serving with the 78th Lightning Division. A member of the Disabled American Veterans, the South Plainfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #6763, and a charter member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge of Arlington, Virginia. Employed as a quality control supervisor for Ford Motor Company, Pat was the fourth employee hired at the Edison Plant, and retired in 1978.
In addition to being a proud veteran, Pat is a member of Sacred Heart RC Church and enjoyed gardening, photography, and sports.
He is predeceased by his sister, Theresa Caslow and his brother, Anthony.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Joan (Schwindinger), his daughter, Susan and her husband, Paul Anderson of Hillsborough. His son, Robert and his wife, Rachael of Howell Township, his two brothers, Theodore of South Plainfield and Nicholas of Bedminster.
Also surviving are his four adored grandchildren, Kara, Kelly, Ryan and Mark.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, followed by a 10:00AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2007 from 2-6PM.
