Rodolfo Gavina Edison- Rodolfo Gavina, 65, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Aristacare at Cedar Oaks in South Plainfield. Born in the Philippines, Mr. Gavina came to the United States in 1971 living in New York City. He resided in Jersey City and Edison for 18 years before moving to Tuckerton 2 years ago. He attended National University in Manila, Philippines and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Rodolfo was a member of the Philippine Association of Professional Engineers, the American Association of Electrical Engineers, as well as the Professional Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Federal Aviation Administration of Electrical Engineers. Mr. Gavina was employed by the U.S. Department of Transportation; working with the Federal Aviation Administration as a Project Engineer in Queens, New York before retiring 2 years ago. Surviving are his wife of 34 years; Erlinda, his 2 children; Michelle Gavina of Wallington and Michael Gavina of New Hampshire. Also surviving are 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 8:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 9:30 AM funeral mass at St. Matthews RC Church, Edison. Entombment will follow in Lake Nelson Memorial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home. "> "> ">
