South Plainfield - Louis J. Baldasarre, 73, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born in Plainfield, Lou resided in South Plainfield for 25 years before moving to Glendora and LaVerne, California, where he also resided for 25 years, returning to South Plainfield in 2005.
Lou was the owner and operator of Lou's TV of South Plainfield, for 25 years, before his retirement.
Lou was a charter member of the South Plainfield B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge # 2298. He was also a life member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad, where he proudly served as the squad's Captain and President. He was also a former member of Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield.
While in California, Lou served as the President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Fountains Social Club. Lou also served as the head cook for many of their special occasions and parties. In Lou's spare time, he enjoyed working with wood, and was quite the craftsman.
Surviving are his three children, son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jenifer Baldasarre of South Plainfield, daughters and son-in law, Laurie and Joe Riccardi of Shohola, Pa, and Deb Baldasarre of Sewell, New Jersey. His three brothers, Constant, of Scotch Plains, Paul of Washington, NJ, and Andrew of Annandale; and in addition, are his beloved 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 4-8 PM and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday
