Emily Meisnest
South Plainfield - Emily (Gitler) Meisnest 85, died on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Whispering Knoll Care Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Newark, Emily resided in Irvington prior to settling in South Plainfield in 1950.
A longtime member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in South Plainfield, Mrs. Meisnest enjoyed sewing and to cook.
She worked as a Personnel Manager for E. J. Korvetts in Watchung, retiring in 1973.
Emily is pre-deceased by 2 brothers: William and Raymond Gitler.
Surviving are her husband Frederick, her daughter Linda Lane and her husband Tom of Providence, RI, her son Raymond Meisnest and his wife Denise of South Plainfield and her brother; Henry Gitler and his wife Bernice of Ohio. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Kevin Meisnest and Tyler Sinclair and her great grandchild River Sinclair.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 3145 Park Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Emily's Garden Fund c/o Whispering Knoll Special Care Unit, 62 James St., Edison, NJ 08820.
