Anna D. Caruso Phillipsburg, NJ - Anna D. (Ballome) Caruso, 87, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at her sons residence. Born in Plainfield, Anna had resided in Middlesex and North Plainfield for a short time before settling to Plainfield where she had resided for most of her life. She was employed with Sav-On Drug stores for twenty-three years, where she worked in the Plainfield, Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung and lastly the Cartaret store before retiring at the age of sixty-five. Mrs. Caruso did the ever so important behind the scenes work for the Dough Boys Band and the Caruso Big 5 Basketball Team. Anna is predeceased by her husband Michael Caruso who died in May 2001 and by her sister Angelina Orlowski. Surviving are her three sons: Michael J. (Gretchen) of Pittstown, Frank R. of South Plainfield, and John T. of Phillipsburg and by her three grandchildren; Ryan, Kelly and Angela. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 with a religious service beginning at 12:00 PM. At the family's request, mausoleum entombment will take place privately at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
