Helen Kistler

South Plainfield - Helen (Oliver) Kistler died on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Frankford Bucks County Hospital in Langhorne, PA.

Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA., she graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts before, marrying William Kistler in 1943. She and her late husband, settled to South Plainfield in 1951.

Helen had been employed locally as a nursery school and kindergarten teacher. She had also served for a number of years on the board of the Visiting Nurses Association of Plainfield.

As an avid swimmer, Helen enjoyed spending time with her many friends swimming at the Metuchen Y or the South Plainfield Community Pool.

In addition to her husband, William, Helen is also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Clark and her sister, Ruth Rohlfs.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Shepherd, her son and his wife, Kenneth & Roberta Kistler, her son in law, Richard Levandowski and her four grandchildren, Doug & Will Levandowski & Michael Kistler and Sarah Kistler and her husband, Tarik.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 1-3 & 6-8 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080
