Beloved husband, father, grandfather

Manville - Ben Oller, 68, died on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville after many years battling health issues.

Born in Somerville, Ben was raised in Raritan and resided in South Plainfield for most of his life, before settling to Manville with his dear daughter, seven years ago.

Ben was a true family man who loved his family dearly. Being a fan of both professional and recreational sports, Ben spent many years coaching, mentoring and watching both his children and their friends participate in various sporting leagues. Ben coached and assisted with the South Plainfield Ponytail Softball, Junior Baseball League and Pop Warner Football League. As his children grew older, his support continued to this day. He could always be found watching and cheering from a nearby sideline and whether the game was home or away, Ben was there to support or lend encouragement.

Predeceased by his parents, Ben & Myrtle (Kline), he is survived by his beloved wife, Janice (Stepka) Oller, his daughter Terri and her husband Anthony Zaliwski of Manville, his son, Scott and his wife Alyson, of South Plainfield, his sister, Diane Borowski of South Plainfield and his dear grandchildren, Lindsay and Dylan, and is expecting an additional granddaughter in March .

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Hoes Lane, Piscataway, NJ.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the visitation hours on Monday, December 1, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
