Maureen Rydarowski South Plainfield - Maureen (nee Diegnan) Rydarowski passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 surrounded by her caring and supportive family. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Maureen was the eldest of seven children born to the late Patrick J. Diegnan Sr. and Sally (nee Byrne) Diegnan. She grew up in Plainfield and later settled with her family in South Plainfield, where she resided for most of her life. Maureen was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick and continued her education at Newark State Teachers College (now Kean University) where she earned a BS in Elementary Education. Maureen was a dedicated educator who touched the lives of so many. Maureen taught 3rd grade at Franklin School and 6th grade in the Middle School for the South Plainfield Board Of Education for over 25 years before her retirement. She was a member of several educational associations, the Road Runners Travel Club and a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church. Maureen was a very spiritual woman and enjoyed taking care of her family and grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Julian; her two loving children, Susan Gwiazda & her husband, Glenn and Joseph & his wife, Debbie; her six siblings, Evelyn Gorman & her husband John, Donald & his wife Geri, Richard & his wife Susan, Norman & his wife Anita, Joseph, and Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan Jr. & his wife Anita; her three cherished grandchildren, Bobby, Sarah & Aidan; and her sister in law, Emilia Stahura; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 beginning at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Relatives and friends may attend the visitation in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9. Committal services will follow mass in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Maureen's memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305. www.apdaparkinson.org
