Robert H. "Bob" Eckenstein Flemington, NJ - Robert H. "Bob" Eckenstein, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Bob lived in Scotch Plains for five years, South Plainfield for thirty-three years and most recently, the last two years in Flemington. Bob was honorably discharged from the United States Army and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Three Bridges. He enjoyed playing darts, gardening and was a very dedicated member of the B.P.O.E. South Plainfield Lodge #2298. From 1989-1991 he was Exalted Ruler, he served for twenty-two years as secretary and was active in the Veterans Committee and helping with the Bingo's at the Menlo Park Veterans Home. Bob was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Bob is survived by his wife Antoinette (Radnovich) of forty-three years, his children; Anna Ensel and her husband Sean of South Plainfield and Robert A. "JR" and his wife Tracy of Flemington and by his grandchildren; Jamie, Allison, Sean and Jake. He also leaves behind his siblings; Lenore Brown and Jack of Columbia, SC and Jack and Ethel of Florence, SC, his sister-in-law Celeste Ginder and her companion Joseph Rauh of South Plainfield and by many extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 beginning 9:30 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 11:00 AM funeral mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Three Bridges. Cremation services will be held privately. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the family would be deeply appreciated. The hour of eleven has arrived with sudden hearts and many tears. Bob, you will never be forgotten.
