Maria Sibio Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother Green Brook, NJ — Maria Sibio, 86, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Care One/The Highlands in Edison with her family by her side. Maria had lived a long, healthy life and only recently fell ill. She was born in Anoia Superiore, Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy, she had resided in Italy and here in the Unites States. While residing here, she had spent time living with all three of her beloved daughters. Maria loved to sew. This passion lead to a career as a seamstress at the former Georkes and Teppers Department Stores in Plainfield and she continued to sew throughout her entire life. She is predeceased by her first husband, George Sibio, who died in 1980 and by her second husband, Domenico Marchetta who died recently. Surviving are her three daughters, Yolanda Adornato, Josephine Vocisano and her husband, Luigi and Catherine Mercuri and her husband, George, her cousin, Michael Condoluci whom she grew up with. Also surviving are seven beloved grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 beginning 9:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 317 First Street, Dunellen, NJ 08812. Her final resting place will be Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway, NJ. Family & Friend are invited to attend the visitation hours on Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
