Gloria Mary Bohl "Great Grandmother of Two" Gloria Mary Yonkman Bohl, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Lopatcong Nursing Center in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Born in Highland Park, New Jersey in 1921, Gloria lived in South Plainfield for the past 53 years. She was employed by the South Plainfield Board of Education for 23 years, retiring in 1984. Gloria was a past member of the South Plainfield Chapter of Deborah Hospital and volunteered as a morning reader at Franklin School. She was also a member of the Wesley Methodist Church in South Plainfield. After her retirement, she enjoyed arts and crafts, handiwork, as well as traveling with her husband. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Bernard Bohl in 2003 and her brother, Arnold "Jim" Yonkman in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Linda DeCoons and her husband John of Belvidere; her son James and his wife Linda of South Plainfield; a granddaughter Kiersten Bohl Ravi and her husband Vic of South Plainfield; two grandsons Michael Costello of Annandale; and Andrew Bohl of South Plainfield; and two great granddaughters, Courtney Bohl and Gianna Ravi, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by a brother Henry Yonkman of Old Bridge; three sisters, Shirley Bailey and June Wangereen both of Sayreville, and Janet Lowich of South Plainfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, April 23, 2007 at Wesley Methodist Church in South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 2-5 PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Memorial donations may be made to JFK Haven Hospice, C/O 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818.
