Obituary of Madeline Penyak

Madeline Penyak, 69, died on Thursday, November 12, 2015 surrounded by her family at home. Born in Glasglow, Scotland, Madeline had resided in South Plainfield since 1950. Mrs. Penyak was an active and devoted member of the South Plainfield American Legion Chaumont Post 243, serving the Post in several capacities particularly as past Vice President of the Women's Auxiliary. Madeline was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In addition, Madeline was also beautician for many years and was very proud she had the ability to currently maintain her cosmetology license. She is predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth "Bessie" and John DeVico. Surviving are her loving husband Joseph Sr.; two sons, Joseph Jr. of South Plainfield and David of Philadelphia; sisters, Heather Staats of South Plainfield and Jeanette Bivona of Middlesex; brothers, John DeVico of CO., Frank DeVico of Middlesex and Alexander DeVico of NY. Also surviving are her 4 adoring grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Anthony and Gianna. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home.
