South Plainfield - Norma Penna, 88, died on Monday, September 8, 2014 at home. Born and raised in North Plainfield, Norma settled to South Plainfield in 1956. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church and worked as a seamstress at the former Middlesex Dress Co. in South Plainfield. In addition Mrs. Penna enjoyed to sew in her spare time. She is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents; Joseph Molinari and Maria Abbruzzese and a sister Annabelle Boumpani Surviving are her daughters; Donna Oblack and her husband Brian of South Plainfield and Joanne Lourenco and her husband Americo also of South Plainfield, her son Michael Penna and his wife Carol of Janesville, WI., two sisters; Vinny Veglatte of Bridgewater and Gloria Falconari of Bound Brook and a brother Arthur Abbruzzese Jr. and his wife Dolores of Manville. Also surviving are her five grandchildren; Ricky and Daniel Lourenco and Alyssa, Michael and Nicole Penna. Funeral Services will be held 9:15am on Saturday, September 13, 2014 the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from5-9pm in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org
