Obituary of Daniel E. Ventriglia

Daniel E. Ventriglia South Plainfield, NJ - Daniel E. Ventriglia, 67, died at home on Sunday, October 9, 2011 surrounded by his loving and supportive family. Born in Plainfield to the late Ralph and Katherine (Barone) Ventriglia, he has been a lifelong resident of the borough. Daniel is a retired tool maker who had owned and operated J & M Precision Tool in South Plainfield. In his younger years, he played highschool football and liked softball and bowling. A devout catholic, Daniel was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield attending the 9AM daily mass and Sunday 11:30 AM mass on a regular basis. He had a special devotion to the blessed mother and often assisted at local nursing homes by assisting residents with their parayers and praying the rosary. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Ralph. Daniel is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, June (Cisz) and by four children; Theresa Montuori of Stafford Township, Daniel of South Plainfield, Lisa and her husband Sean Tuohy of Hillsborough and Denise and her husband Brian Balash also of Hillsborough. He also leaves behind his grandchildren whom he loved and they referred to him as poppy; Jessica, Nicole and Amanda Montuori, Alicia Ventrigilia and Stella and Jake Tuohy and by his siblings; Kathy of Toms River and Donald of Highland Lakes. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 beginning at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Daniel's name to Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
