Obituary of Eugene Foersch

South Plainfield - Eugene Foersch, 81, passed away on January 1, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Summit, he grew up in Stirling and later resided in Plainfield before entering the United States Army in 1951. He served stateside during the Korean Conflict prior to his honorable discharge in 1953.
He met his future wife, the late Anne Bernadette Buckley, while working at the former Frank & Vicki's Luncheonette in Plainfield. Eugene and Anne married in 1961, and resided in Middlesex up until 1983, at which time they moved to South Plainfield. In 1983, Eugene went to work for Minuteman Restaurant located in Bernardsville , and worked there until his retirement at the age of 65.
A quite, family oriented man, Eugene was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and will be missed by his family and close friends.
Eugene is Predeceased by his wife, Anne Bernadette ( Buckley ) Foersch and his brother, Edwin.
Surviving are a daughter; Anne Maria Foersch of Chatham, sister, Jacqueline Helme of West Pittston, Pa. and many nieces, nephews, in laws and extended family members.
Funeral services will begin on Monday January 5, 2015 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ at 10 AM.
Interment will follow mass in Holy redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Family and friends are invited to join together for visitation on Sunday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
