Obituary of Collis E. Moore

Collis E. Moore, 82, of South Plainfield, N.J. died at home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Born and raised in Lenoir, NC, Collis lived in Virginia prior to settling to South Plainfield nearly 54 years ago.
Collis was a former truck driver, and also had a side business selling Christmas Trees along Park Ave in South Plainfield; which he grew into his full time garden supply business formerly known as Moore's Stone and Garden in South Plainfield. He was an active member at Cedar Croft Bible Chapel in South Plainfield and was an avid Johnny Cash fan.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Desmond and Gerald.
Surviving are his wife Peggy J.; daughters, Joyce Schweers and her husband Brian of Shrewsbury, Cynthia Zielenbach and her husband George of East Brunswick and Rebecca Moore of South Plainfield; sons, Michael and his wife Judy of Snydersville, PA, Thomas and his wife LuAnn of Buxton, ME and David and his wife Kimberley of Blandon, PA; sisters, Margaret Jensen and her husband Neils of Wildwood, FL, Betty Jean Smoot of Manning, SC; brothers, Ted M. Moore and his wife Linda of Blandon, PA, Jay Harold Moore and his wife Joan of Nashua, NH and eight grandchildren, Amanda, Taryn, Cody, Jessica, Brooke, Brandy, Jenna and Raven. Also surviving are several extended loving relatives; particularly his niece Shirley Thompson of South Plainfield, who is an angel here on earth.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:30AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals located at 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery Scotch Plains.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes or Alzheimer's Associations.
