Obituary of Patricia Jane Rodgers

South Plainfield - Patricia "Patty" Jane ( Stockman ) Rodgers, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at home. Born in Bayshore, Long Island, Patricia had resided and attended East Hartford, Connecticut schools before she married in 1953. She and her late husband, Ralph, settled to South Plainfield where she had resided ever since. She began working as a young lady in a Dress Shop and at a dairy in Long Island. For a short period, Patricia worked for Hartford Insurance company before staying home to raise her three children. She returned to work in 1980 as a sales associate for Hayne's Department store in Woodbridge. She retired in 1999 form Stern's Department store in South Plainfield. Predeceased by her husband, Ralph Wesley Rodgers who died in 2002, surviving are three children, Douglas & his wife Patricia of Newton Debra Witkowski of Keyport, Ellen Rodgers of Georgetown, De. and sister Pricilla Soucy of East Hartford, CT. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Robert & Laura. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM
