Obituary of John A. Snogans

South Plainfield - John A. Snogans, 61, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Newark, John was raised in Nutley and had resided in South Plainfield for the past 21 years. Mr. Snogans worked for New Jersey Transit for 38 years as a Locomotive Engineer out of the Hoboken Terminal. He is a Past President and former Chairman of the Teamsters Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. John enjoyed model trains and was a skilled woodworker. Surviving are his wife Sharon (McCauley) and his children; Christine and Daniel Snogans all of South Plainfield, as well as several extend relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 3-7pm in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105
