Brenda Hamilton Lakewood, NJ - Brenda (Rush) Hamilton, 72, died on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Laurelton Village Care Center in Brick. Born in Somerville to her late parents Lyman and Mary (Huber) Rush, she grew up in Plainfield and North Plainfield. Brenda spent twenty-one years as a resident of South Plainfield, nine years in Toms River and has lived in Lakewood since 2000. She enjoyed spending time at home as a homemaker and loved her time spent with her grandchildren. Brenda was a driver for the South Plainfield Senior Citizens and in her spare time, she loved cooking. Everyone she met was welcomed into her home anytime. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by many. She is predeceased by her husband William J. Hamilton who died February of 2001. Brenda leaves behind her children; Mary Catherine Hamilton of Brick and William and his wife Shari of Bridgewater. She will be missed by her grandchildren Arianna and Ryan,her siblings; Lyman Rush of Saranac Lake, NY, Robert and Merlyn Rush of The Villages, FL and Stanton and Stepheny Rush of Waymart, PA and by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 Deacon Andrew Golden will have a religious service Monday evening at 8:30pm. At the family's request, cremation will be held private.
