Obituary of Virginia A. Mattison

Virginia A. Mattison Piscataway - Virginia A. (Conlon) Mattison, died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Peter's University Medical Center in New Brunswick 6 days before her 95th birthday. Born in New Brunswick, NJ she was a graduate of New Brunswick High School and Drake College in New Brunswick. She later resided in Metuchen and Middlesex before settling to Piscataway over 60 years ago. She had been employed as the former Director of Welfare for Piscataway Township. Her husband William, died in February of 2003. She is also predeceased by her two sisters; Marie Gebhardt & Lucene Rothfuss. Surviving are her two daughters; Margaret Ratajczak & her husband William and Lois Applegate & her husband William and her son Kevin J. Mattison all of Piscataway Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Michelle Wetzel, Brian & Todd Applegate and her three great grandchildren. Funerals services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima, RC Church, Piscataway Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 1-5 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
