South Plainfield - Lucy G. Evans (Grieb), 91, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2011in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison
Born Metuchen, Lucy married the late Arthur W. Evans in 1949. She resided in South Plainfield for nearly 40 years before moving to New Orleans in 1985. In 2005, immediately after Hurricane Katrina, Mrs. Evans returned to South Plainfield.
Surviving are her two daughters; June Franke and her husband Bill of South Plainfield and Valarie Fernandez and her husband Ovidio of Lascrucus, NM, two stepsons; Richard Evans and his wife Mitchiko of California and Robert Evans of New Jersey, two grandchildren; Tiffiny Wallace and Russell Evans and two great grandchildren; Morgan and Tyler Evans.
A Memorial Gathering will be celebrated on Sunday, July 24, 2011 beginning at 2pm followed by a 4pm Memorial Service in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Donations may be made in her name to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (www.mskcc.org) or the Salvation Army (salvationarmyusa.org)
