Charlotte J. Matticola South Plainfield - Charlotte J. Matticola, 73, a loving wife, mother and "nanny," passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at the AristaCare at Norwoord Terrace in Plainfield. She was born in Palisades Park and resided in Belleville before settling to South Plainfield in 1968. For 7 years, Mrs. Matticola worked at the New Milford High School as a Physical Education Teacher before moving to South Plainfield where she raised her 3 children. After, Charlotte returned to teaching as a substitute teacher in South Plainfield for many years. In addition, Charlotte was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years; Joseph Matticola, her daughter Laurie Venetucci and her husband Vito of South Plainfield, her 2 sons; Robert also of South Plainfield and Mark of Trenton. Also surviving are her 3 grandchildren; Jordanna, Vincenzo and Donato. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 9:15am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Cremation Services will be held privately. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 4-8pm in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the NJ Chapter M.S.
