Obituary of Mae Zarra

South Plainfield - Mae Zarra ( nee Lukaszeski ) 97, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Arista Care- Norwood Terrace in Plainfield. Born and raised in Newark, Mae had resided in South Plainfield for the past fifty years before recently entering the care center. She had been employed by RCA in Avenel as a cafeteria worker and later as a private caterer for Mr. Cohn. Mae will be best remembered as a woman that lived her life as a loving wife and mother, and as a devoted grandmother and great grandmother whose family was very important to her. Her husband, Angelo, died in 1984 and she is also predeceased by a sister, Stephanie and brother, Chester. Surviving are a daughter and her husband; Kathleen and John Ingerto of South Plainfield, son and his wife, Ronald and Diane Zarra of Colorado, four grandchildren; Melinda and her husband Eric Wordel, Anthony and his fiancé Kristen Lazar, Joy and her husband Scott Parrish and Jay and his wife, Krisha Zarra. Also surviving are five great grandchildren; Alexander, Benjamin, Connor, Leah and Paige. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Family and friends, may attend the visitation on Friday from 7-9PM and Saturday from 10-10:30 AM in the funeral home.
