Jeffrey J. Abrams South Plainfield - Jeffrey J. Abrams, 61, died on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in New York, Jeff was raised in Colonia and resided in Edison before moving to South Plainfield 20 years ago. For 17 years, Mr. Abrams worked at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections in North Brunswick prior to retiring as a Lieutenant. He also served as Vice President of Safety & Security for the Archdioceses of Newark's St. James Hospital. In addition, Jeff took pride in his family and loved all of his friends. He is predeceased by his parents; Irwin and Claire Abrams and his brother Mitchell. Surviving are his wife Bonnie (Williams) Abrams, his sons Jeffrey J. Abrams, Jr and his wife Yvonne and Scott M. Abrams and his wife Vicki both of Edison. His sister Jodi Smyth (Bob) also of Edison, his six grandchildren; Gavin, Ty, Delaney, Rylie, Avery and Jake, his Mother- in-Law Julie Williams of South Plainfield and his Sister-in-law Karen Abrams of Hillsborough. Also surviving are his two nephews; Joshua Abrams and his wife Kristin of Staten, NY and David Aubrey of Little Falls as well as many loving friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 9:45 AM in the Community Presbyterian Church, 75 Glenville Road, Edison, NJ. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 3-5 PM & 7-9 PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
