Obituary of Raymond M. Noonan

South Plainfield - Raymond M. Noonan, 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at home. Born and raised in Passaic, Raymond settled to South Plainfield with his late wife, Veronica in 1970. Raymond served with the United States Air force from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He is a graduate of Teterboro School of Aeronautics with a degree in Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics. After 30 years of dedicated work, he retired as a licensed airline mechanic for Eastern Airlines in Newark, NJ. Along with his late wife, Raymond was a member of the South Plainfield Senior Citizens and participated in many of the group activities. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in South Plainfield. He was an avid reader, enjoyed the Jersey Shore and traveling abroad with his wife, birdwatching and college football. Raymond will be remembered fondly for his love of family gatherings. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Veronica who died in April 2013 and two brothers; Allen and Ken Noonan. Surviving are his brother; Patrick Noonan of Clifton, two daughters; Diane Romanick and her husband Theodore of Whitehouse Station, and Kathleen Bryson and her husband Neil of Millington, his son Michael and his wife Robin of Hazlet and nine grandchildren; Melissa Bryson, Samantha Sutor, Lindsey Ziegler, Jaclyn Oehler and Katheryn Noonan, Chad and Chelsea Romanick and Alyson and Patrick Schenk. Also surviving are four great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 9:15 am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the funeral home In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 8000 Boys Town, NE 68010 www.boystown.org.
