Obituary of Patricia Ann Rushforth

Fanwood - Patricia Rushforth, 82, died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Manor Care Mountainside Nursing Home in Mountainside, NJ. Born to the late Edward and Agnes Hoar in Teaneck, Pat grew up in Bogota, graduating from Holy Angels Academy in 1950 and settling to Fanwood in 1971. Pat was employed with Western Electric as an engineering clerk and became a stay-at-home mom while maintaining several part-time positions. As a faithful communicant of St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Pat sang with the church choir and previously assisted church-supported blood drives, the homeless, and bingo. She enjoyed sewing and caring for her pets. Predeceased by two siblings, James Howard and Anne Cavallaro, surviving are her husband of 43 years; James of Fanwood, daughter; Kathy Rushforth of Great Neck, NY, son; Jim Rushforth of Westport, NY as well as four siblings; Agnes Hughes, Margaret McDonald, Terry McElory and Thomas Hoar. A funeral mass will be held on September Friday, September 12, 2014 at 6:00 PM in St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, 368 Sumner Avenue, Plainfield, NJ 07062. Visitation will be held in the church prior to mass from 4:00-6:00 PM. Cremation will be held privately. .
