Obituary of Helen E. Heaney

Piscataway - Helen (Jankowski) Heaney, 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 20, 2015 at Centrastate Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Jersey City, Helen grew up in North Arlington and graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in Kearny. She settled in Piscataway in 1960 with her husband, Raymond, where she raised her three loving children. Helen was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima in Piscataway and served several terms as PTA President for Our Lady of Fatima School. Helen was retired; however, her last place of employment was Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Helen is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Adams and Eleanor (Garbowski) and her son, Raymond J. Heaney, Jr., who passed away 10 months ago. Surviving are her loving husband, Raymond Sr., beloved children, Ronald and wife Penny of Sayerville, and Sheryl and her husband Todd Ritter of Millstone Township, two grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Emily, as well as, four siblings, Eleanor Jean Adams, Mary Ann Stanek, Joseph J. Adams, Jr. and John R. Adams and a host of extended family. Helen will be forever missed by her family and friends and always remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima, Piscataway at 10:30AM. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM in the funeral home.
