Obituary of Doris Miller

South Plainfield - Doris Miller, 68 passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2015 surrounded by her family. She is survived by a loving husband, 2 daughters, 2 grandchildren, mother and 2 siblings. Doris was a lifetime resident of South Plainfield having graduating from Sacred Heart Grammar School and South Plainfield High School. She worked as an Executive Assistant for AT&T in the Labs Research Department initially in Murry Hill and later Florham Park prior to retirement. In her younger years, Doris enjoyed gardening, boating and creating stained glass. She was most recently very active in the knitting and crocheting groups at the South Plainfield Senior Center and the Public Library. Her talents and personality made her a leader and mentor to others. She recently discovered gaming on her Apple iPad and loved playing the game My Singing Monsters with her grandson. Additionally and most importantly, Doris was the anchor of her family and loved to cook. Funeral services will begin with a memorial gathering from 3-5 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Reflections and sharing will begin at 5PM, all are invited to attend and join. Additionally, all are invited to join together Monday in the funeral home from 10-11 AM prior to committal of her cremated remains at the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
