South Plainfield - Dorothy G. (Zych) Pasquale, 80, passed away on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison with her family at her side. Born and raised in Staten Island, she was one of seven children born to the late Paul and Mary. Dorothy, known to so many as Nanny, later resided in Clark, NJ for 50 years before settling to South Plainfield ten years ago. The most important part of her life was spending time with her granddaughters, Alexis and Sarah. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and traveling with her companion of six years Samuel Callisto. She had been employed as an office manager for various doctors in Central New Jersey. Predeceased by her husband, Sebastian who died in 2004, a sister, Stella Pierlewski and four brothers; Stanley, Walter, Edward and Paul. Surviving are her daughter; Mary Cargill and her husband, Brian and their daughters, Alexis and Sarah all of South Plainfield, a son; Retired Lieutenant Colonel Gary Pasquale and his wife, Regina and their daughter, Valerie of Maryland and a brother, Chester Zych of Connecticut. A memorial services will begin Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 9:00 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Helen Church, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield, NJ 07090. Entombment of her cremated remains will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery Mausoleum, Colonia. Family and friends may attend the memorial gathering on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Sister Pat's Cancer Camp, www.sisterpatskidscamp.org or by mail to 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield, NJ 07090.
