South Plainfield - Leslie W. "Les" Saintz, 73, died September 6, 2014 in JFK Hospital, Edison NJ. Born August 15, 1941 in Johnstown, PA, son of Walter and Mildred (Hearn) Saintz. He was raised in Johnstown, moved to NJ in 1964 and served proudly in the Army National Guard. Les lived in Highland Park, NJ and South Plainfield NJ for the past 30 years. He retired from General Motors in Linden. In his younger years, he always came "home" to visit his family. He was affectionately known as "Pops and Poppy", and will be missed by those who knew him and loved him. Predeceased in death by parents, sister and brother, first wife, Carol D. (McGaughey) and son, Mark D. Saintz. Surviving are his wife, Yvonne (Gates), children, Timothy Saintz, of Edison NJ, Matthew Saintz (Bonnie) of Nanty Glo, PA, Andrew Saintz of Middlesex NJ and daughter, Patricia Toth (Raymond, Jr.) of Johnstown PA. Grandchildren;, Angelina, Michael and Robert Saintz all of Middlesex, Grayce Toth of Johnstown PA. and , Brittany and Debbie Saintz of Marianna, FL. He will also be missed by his brothers, Lawrence (Carroll) of Johnstown, PA and Arnold (Candace), sister, Darlene Melikant (Robert) of Johnstown, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Saturday, September, 13, 2014 at 6PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ. 07080. Family and friends may attend his visitation on Saturday from 2PM until the time of the services. Cremation and interment of his cremated remains will take place privately.
