Stephen Hyduk South Plainfield - Stephen Hyduk, 84, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in JFK Hartwyck at Cedar Brook in Plainfield. Born and raised in Marion Heights, PA., Stephen lived in Newark prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1967. He worked for Weston Instruments in Newark for several years and was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield where he also served as an usher form many years. Mr. Hyduk proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. A member of the "Chosin Few" Stephen fought in the Chosin Reservior Campaign as well as the Liberation of Seoul. He is predeceased by his six brothers. Surviving are his wife Kathryn (Mushalko) Hyduk, his sister Verna Augustine of PA and by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org
