South Plainfield - Arthur R. "Artie" Sabino, Sr., 75, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield.
Born in Plainfield, Artie is a lifelong resident of South Plainfield devoting his time with both the South Plainfield VFW Post 6763 and the South Plainfield Elks Lodge No. 2298. He also volunteered with the Borough's EMS.
A hardworking man, Artie was employed with Hulls Chemical Company, D&D Auto Parts and most famously with Riley School as a custodian.
Predeceased by his wife, Margaret; son, Michael, daughter, Debbie and brother, George, surviving are his son, Arthur Jr. of South Plainfield, sister, Barbara Philips of Toms River and two daughters - in - law, Lydia Sabino and Diane Deschaine.
He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Shawn and his wife Mindy and Sarah Sabino and his great grandson, Jaxson.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 2-5PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080. A funeral service will begin at 4:30 in the funeral home.
Cremation will follow privately.
