Obituary of Frank S. Zwolak

South Plainfield - Frank S. Zwolak,92, died on Friday, March 6, 2015 in the Abington Care and Rehabilitation Center in Green Brook. The son of the lates Rose and Joseph Zwolak, Frank was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided in South Plainfield for all of his life As a child, he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in California and Colorado. Following, he then enlisted in the US Army serving during WWII. A former POW and recipient of 2 Bronze Stars, Frank served in the North African Theater. Upon his honorable discharge, Frank worked in construction and was a member of the International Laborer's Union for more than 50 years. Frank was active with many organizations such as the Edison Moose Lodge, the American Legion Chaumont Post 243, National Polish Home, the VFW Post 6763 all located in South Plainfield. He was also South Plainfield Senior Citizens In addition, Frank enjoyed bowling, drawing and ballroom dancing. He is predeceased by seven siblings, Jan Zwolak, Joseph Zwolak, Katherine Stashefski, Olga DeLaurier, Edward Zwolak, Jean Helbo and Stanley Zwolak. Surviving are his sister, Stella Laskowski, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 9:15am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 7-9pm In the funeral home.
