Obituary of Dorothy Marie Meier

Forks Township, PA - Dorothy (Finnerty) Meier, 96, entered into eternal life in the early hours of Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her residence. Born and raised in Staten Island, Dot had lived in Edison, the Jersey Shore area including Brick and most recently in Forks Township, PA. In her earlier years, she loved softball and baseball, especially the NY Yankees. Belonging to many women's softball leagues, she won in the Triborough Softball League. After many years of employment, Dot retired from Chanel located in Piscataway. She is predeceased by her parents; John and Agnes (Bell) Finnerty, six siblings and her daughter Judith. Dot leaves behind her loving children; Dot Meier of Forks Township, PA, Andrea Pickett of Howell, NJ and Edwin Meier of Forks Township, PA, her six cherished grandchildren and twelve adored great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Funeral services will begin 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org/) would be appreciated.
