Maria Infante Manalapan - Maria (Colantuono) Infante, 94, passed away Tuesday morning under hospice care in CentraState Medical Center in Freehold following a short illness. Born in Lioni Avellino, Italy, Maria came to the United States in 1972 and had resided in Plainfield, North Plainfield and South Plainfield before moving to Seaside Park and settling to Manalapan four years ago. She had been employed as a production worker for the former Markay Bag Company in Plainfield and retired when the company closed in 1978. She enjoyed spending time with family and watching sports, especially the NY Mets and soccer. Predeceased by her husband, Antonio who died in 1999 she is also predeceased by her three brothers, Michael, John and Angelo. Surviving are her two sons, Vincenzo and his wife Pasqualina of South Plainfield and Salvatore and his wife, Diane of Manalapan and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony, Jessica and Mario and eight great grandchildren, Elliot, Parker, Chloe, Bella, Johnny, Jason, Logan and Vincent. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home
