Janet Kolvites South Plainfield - Janet (Mannion) Kolvites, 77, died on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Scranton, PA., Mrs. Kolvites grew up in Plainfield and had resided in South Plainfield since 1957. Janet worked for Bell Labs in Murray Hill as an office clerk and later worked as a teachers aid in the special education department for the South Plainfield school system. She also volunteered for several years at the former Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was a long time communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Mrs. Kolvites was very active with her children's childhood activities. She attended the South Plainfield Senior Citizens where she enjoyed bingo but most importantly she loved her grandchildren. In addition, Mrs. Kolvites was a member of the Friends of Bill program. She is predeceased by a son Paul in 1970, her mother Loretta Mannion in 1989 and by her brother Jack Mannion in 1983. Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Albert, her daughter Lori MacManus and her husband Colin of Warren, 2 sons; Robert and his wife Janine of South Plainfield and William and his wife Colleen of Barnaget, her sister Helen Johnston and her husband Bradford of PA, and by her 7 grandchildren; Anthony Kolvites, Kimberly Kolvites, Adam Kolvities, Bobby K. Kolvites, Dylan Kolvites and Carly and Ashley MacManus. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30 AM funeral mas at Sacred Heart RC Church. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
