Obituary of Lois R. Hays

South Plainfield - Lois R. Hays, 79, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison with her beloved family by her side. Born in Plainfield, Lois resided in North Plainfield, Whiting and South Plainfield for most of her life, including the last year where she lived with her daughter, Debra and her family. Lois is the former owner and operator of Grecian Lady Boutique which was located in South Plainfield during the 1970's. She later worked at the Park Hotel in Plainfield as an administrative assistant. Along with her late husband, Duane, Lois was a founding member of the Old Bridge Volunteer Rescue Squad. She was also a former member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad's Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spoiling her beloved dogs Sammy and Casey, shopping, knitting and playing cards. One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her grandchildren and go out to dinner with her lady friends. Lois is predeceased by her husband, Duane G., surviving are her two daughters; Debra Bishop and her husband Scot and Gayle Miller and her husband Michael, five grandchildren; John Michael Nagy, Jr., Shannon Bishop, Kimberly Mills, Ashley Worrell and Scot Bishop. She will also be missed by two great grandchildren; William Nagy and John M. Nagy III. Funeral services were held at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
