Obituary of Nicholas A. Caiola

Edison - Nicholas A. Caiola, 54, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Bronx, NY, Nick grew up in Piscataway and has resided in Edison for the past 24 years. He graduated from Piscataway High school Class of '77. After graduating from high school Nick entered the masonary field where he excelled at the trade. He was always proud of his masonary skills and the jobs he completed. Following the masonry field, Nick entered in the disposal business. He worked for the former Edison Disposal, Statewide and Midco Waste which currently operates under the Republic Services in South Plainfield. While raising his three boys, Nick was active during their youth sporting activities. He coached all three of his sons in the Edison Boys Baseball league and the Edison JETS Pop Warner program. While coaching in the Pop Warner program he served as an equipment manager, was a Trustee for many years and Past President. In addition, Nick was a member of the former Dunellen B.P.O.E. and served as a lodge Chaplain and Trustee. Referred to as "Coyote" Nick had a wide circle of friends all of whom he considered family. He was a kind hearted man who never thought of himself first and will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Salvatore and by his brother Charlie. Surviving are his wife Kimarie (York), his three sons; Christopher, Nicholas Jr. and Salvatore all of Edison, his mother Nicolina of Piscataway, his sister Josephine Dowding and her husband Gregory also of Piscataway, his mother in-law Joan York, three sisters in-laws and three brothers in-laws. Also surviving are two nieces, eight nephews, three great nieces and two great nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 8:30am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Matthew The Apostle RC Church, Edison. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 5-9pm in the funeral home.
