Obituary of Elaine B. Iodice

South Plainfield - Elaine B. (Neals) Iodice,77, passed away Wednesday February 18, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison following a short illness.
Born and raised in Newark to the late William and Generva, Elaine was a graduate of South Side High School class of 57. She settled to South Plainfield in 1968 and resided there until 1997, when she moved to Manahawkin. Post Sandy, Elaine settled back to South Plainfield.
Employed by New Jersey Bell, Elaine served as the Delegate for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working in Cranford and South Plainfield prior to her retirement.
An avid sports fan, Elaine enjoyed watching the N.Y. Mets, Jets and Rangers, she also enjoyed being involved with South Plainfield's Youth Sports with her children. She served as President of the Booster Club and later enjoyed watching and being with her grandchildren as they participated in their various activities. Additionally, Elaine enjoyed Bingo and trips to the casino.
Predeceased by her husband Salvatore, who died in 1999, surviving are her two children, Steven and wife Mary Beth of Flemington and Lorrie Marino and husband Ross of South Plainfield; brother, William Neals and wife Marilyn; brother-in-law Nicholas Iodice and wife Cathy; sisters -in -law, Barbara Iodice and Nora Morse.
She will also be missed by her three beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas and Michael Iodice.
Family and friends are invited to join together for visitation on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Cremation will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Disabled American Veterans Department of New Jersey, 135 W. Hanover Street, 4th Floor, Trenton, NJ 08618.
