Piscataway - John Zaremba, 85 died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at home. He was born at home in Plainfield on February 25, 1929 and resided in Piscataway for the past 57 years. A longtime communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway, John served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Dunellen VFW Post 5479 and served the organization in various capacities. John was employed by ACME Supermarkets and managed several stores throughout Central Jersey over the course of his career prior to his retirement in 1984. Outside of work, John enjoyed woodworking, fishing and took great pride in maintaining his yard. In addition, John was particularly fond of airplanes and enjoyed flying with his brother serving as his co-pilot. He is predeceased by his wife Joan and is survived by his two daughters, Cathy Horn and her husband Marty of South Plainfield and Patty Janes and her husband Tom of Piscataway; his brother Edward; five grandchildren, Becky, Chris, Danny, David and Alex and one great grandchild Reed. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home.
