Obituary of Joseph J. Pukash

Edison - Joseph J. Pukash, 72, died on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Carteret, Joe had resided in South Plainfield before settling to Edison. He was a graduate of Monmouth University and Kean University, where he received his master's degree in Education.
Joe had been an educator in the South Plainfield School District teaching for the Board of Education at the Franklin School where he was instrumental in starting the Science Fair at both Franklin School and the High School. Later he taught at the Piscataway Vocational School prior to retiring only to continue he passion for teaching as a tutor. He had touched many lives and was also devoted to teaching those with special needs.
Other than his three daughters, Joe's passion in life was fishing and the Indianapolis Colts football team.
Predeceased by his brother, Thomas, surviving are his three daughters; Danielle Pukash, Dawn Franc and Samantha Pukash, sister; Patricia and two loving grandchildren; Charlotte and Zachary as well as many friends and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 9AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM.
Cremation will follow privately.
Family and friends may attend the visitation on Monday May 12, 2014 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
If lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
