Obituary of Marie A Duffy

South Plainfield - Marie A. Duffy, 83, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at home. Born in Staten Island, NY, Marie grew up in Plainfield before settling to South Plainfield in 1972. She worked for the Garden of Paper, later known as the Gift Garden in South Plainfield for over 20 years. Marie most enjoyed being home and caring for her four daughters. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Predeceased by her husband of 51 years who died in 2007, James, surviving are four daughters and their husbands; Bernadette and Joseph Brander of South Plainfield, Renee and Thomas Doherty of Sheboygan, WI, Andrea and Jeffrey Meyer of North Plainfield and Lisa and David Shaughnessy of Stroudsburg, Pa.; sister, Joanne Ceccomancini and husband, Tony of North Plainfield, sister in law, Marliyn Corsentino and husband John of Elizabeth and six nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, Heather Meyer, Thomas Doherty and wife, Tiffany, Alicia Brander, Amy Jo Brander, Jeffrey Meyer Jr. and wife Sharon and David Shaughnessy and five great grandchildren, Lillian Bissett, Ryder Coleman, Brianna Meyer, Courtney Meyer and Sophia Meyer. Funeral services will begin on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:45AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funeral, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Thursday from 5-9PM in the funeral home.
