Anna Rowe South Plainfield, NJ - Anna (Ratkovich) Rowe, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Peggy Coloney's House at Hope Village located within the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Anna has been a resident of South Plainfield for most of her life. Anna had worked for the South Plainfield Board of Education as a crossing guard in front of Sacred Heart Church and was also a member of Sacred Heart RC Church where she spent over fifty years as the cook and assisted with the cleaning for the parish priests. In her earlier years, Anna worked in housekeeping department for the former Muhlenberg Hospital and worked at the former Cornell Dubilier in South Plainfield. She is predeceased by her daughter; Anna Marie Connaughton who died in 1989, her husband, Walter, who died in 1967 and all her siblings, Olga, Sonia, Mary, Helen, Dot and John. Surviving are her granddaughters and their families; Laura & Tom Timmerman, Amy and Denton Cinqueqrana, a grandson; Mark Mondoro, six great-grandchildren; Steven, John, Jaclyn, Matthew, Jayson and Anamarie, and a son in law; James F. Connaughton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 beginning 10:45 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30 AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 2-4 &7-9 PM and on Monday from 10:30 AM until the service time.
