Obituary of Julius Hanas

Julius Hanas, 98, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Julius resided in Edison before settling in Piscataway 35 years ago.
A Veteran of WWII, Mr. Hanas served in the Pacific Theatre with the Navy Seabees and was honorably discharged on November 11, 1945.
Julius worked as Tax Accountant Executive for the Chevron Oil Corporation retiring after nearly 30 years.
A passionate musician, who excelled in several different instruments, Mr. Hanas was an advanced keyboard player and was the manager of his own band.
Along with his wife Anne, who passed away on April 14, 2015, he enjoyed traveling, particularly cruises and was a sports enthusiast following nearly all of the New York teams.
In addition to Anne, Julius is predeceased by his son Russell Hanas and his first wife Rosalie Terefenko Hanas, who passed in 1977 and by his brothers, Walter Hanas and Joseph Kaczmar.
Surviving are his son Robert J. and his wife, Janice of Edison; daughters, Patricia Mincarelli of Piscataway and Joanne Tomacheck of South Plainfield; grandchildren, Anthony Tomacheck, Lisa Kavka, Jennifer Lombardi and Jessica Trask and great grandchildren, Elio, Nico, Oliver and Demi.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 9:15 AM in the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
