Bayville - Edward W. Zonowith, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2014 at home with his loving family at his side. Born and raised in Plainfield, Edward resided in South Plainfield for many years where he raised his family prior to his retirement and settling to Bayville, Edward was a member of the 1949 High School State Champion football team, served proudly in the United States Navy during Korean War from 1951-1955 and enjoyed his retirement boating and fishing. He had been employed as a Union Plumber for Local # 24 of Newark for 50 years. He worked as a supervisor and foremen for Plainfield Plumbing and Heating and then Elling Brothers Mechanical Contractors. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Lois (Hann) three children; Robert and his wife Mariann, William Zonowith and Karen Kenny and her husband, Daniel. Three cherished grandchildren; Shawn Kenny and his wife Tressa, Janelle Carnahan and her husband, Terrence and Ryan Kenny and his wife, Christina. Funeral services will begin on Saturday December, 27, 2014 at 9 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph's RC Church, 40 Jackson Avenue, North Plainfield at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family and friend may attend the visitation hours on Friday from 4-8pm.
