Obituary of Peter E. Fava

Peter E. Fava, 60, formerly of South Plainfield passed Thursday July 18, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Newark, the son of Peter and Mary Jane Fava. Peter graduated from Rahway High and then went to a trade school specializing in sheet metal and HVAC. He was formally employed by Westfield Sheet Metal for 10 years and Schering Plough/Merck for 29 years. Peter was involved in Local 22 sheet metal workers and Local 315 Aero Space Machinists. He was also a fireman and EMT with Schering Plough. Peter enjoyed playing baseball, football and basketball well into his forties. He loved fishing and boating, coaching basketball, baseball and soccer. He is predeceased by his sister; Mary Jane Lee. Surviving are his wife; Judith Fava, son; Eric Fava, daughter; Kara Miletic and her husband Nick, their son; Mason, sister; Catherine Giblin and her significant other Rocco Monticello, and brother in law; Kenneth Lee. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday July 23, 2013 at 10:00AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5-8PM and Tuesday, from 9:30 until the time of the service.
