John C. Fabiano South Plainfield - John C. Fabiano, 81 , died on Monday, May 30, 2011 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in South Plainfield, John was one of 12 children born to the late Salvatore and Josephine. He remained a life long resident of the boro. He served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean war in Germany as part of the Tank Division. John began his career at the former Cornell Dubilier Manufacturing Facility in South Plainfield. He was employed at the former Ortho Plant, and later known as Chevron also in South Plainfield, where he worked as the supervisor of plant operations. He was charged with maintaining its facilities, buildings and grounds. John recently retired after over 40 years of dedicated service. Known for being a "jack of all and master of many," John could often be found lending a hand to whomever needed help or at his home, meticulously maintaining his property. He is predeceased by his wife, Connie (Molinaro) Fabiano who died 18 years ago. He is also predeceased by sisters, Antoinette Dudak, Mary Palac, Grace LaFleur, Carmella Vanderputten, Frances Koncsol and Viola Young and three brothers, Danny, Anthony and Joseph. Surviving are two sisters, Rosalie Fleming and Sara Fabiano. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will begin on Friday June 3, 2011 at 9:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield followed by a 10:30 AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
