Obituary of Audrea J. Ranger

South Plainfield - Audrea J. (Knott) Ranger, 91, passed away peacefully at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Scranton, Pa to the late William and Mabel Knott, Audrea resided in North Plainfield before settling to South Plainfield in 1952. Audrea was an advocate and volunteer for Deborah Heart and Lung, serving as president of the Plainfield Chapter. She dedicated her time to raising money for the hospital, which earned her a plaque on the Tree of Life. A former member of the Chatham Presbyerian Church, Audrea also enjoyed watching South Plainfield High School Wrestling, where her late husband and high school sweet heart was a respected coach. After he retired, she continued to attend district matches. A breast cancer survivor, Audrea was a caregiver to many in her life, will be forever missed. Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, who died in 1997, Alfred and daughter who died in 2014 Linda Ranger, surviving are her son, Ronald Ranger and wife Diane of South Plainfield; daughter, Janet Ranger of Rahway and three granddaughters, Jessica Johnston and husband Michael, Danielle and Deanna all of South Plainfield. Funeral services will begin on Friday, January 8, 2015 at 11AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Thursday from 5-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung, www.deborahfoundation.org/donate
