Middlesex, NJ - Antonina Troia, 89, passed away peacefully at Eastern Star Nursing Home in the early hours of Friday, October 21, 2016. Born in Torretta, Sicily, to her late parents Antonio and Giulia (Armeta) Troia, she moved to Brooklyn in 1965 and became a resident of Middlesex twenty-two years ago. While living in Brooklyn, she worked in a sewing factory. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Predeceased by her husband Calogero Troia in 2007 and by four siblings; Antonina leaves behind three sisters; Maria Bonello of Bound Brook, Giovanna DiMaggio and her husband Antonino of Middlesex and Santa DiMaggio and her husband Salvatore of Dunellen and several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 8:15 am until 8:45 am. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 8:45 am followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex. Mausoleum entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ located at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
