Obituary of Gary L. Rohrer

South Plainfield - Gary L. Rohrer, 52, unexpectedly died tragically on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Born on April 8, 1964 in Newark, NY, he moved to New Jersey in 1987, settling to South Plainfield in 1998. He graduated from Newark High School in 1982 and furthered his education with SUNY Geneseo, graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree.
He worked as a Sales Representative for Mon Chateau in New York and previously, worked as a Sales Manager for Delonghi USA in Upper Saddle River, NJ. For several years, he was an assistant commissioner at the SPJBC and was active with the Athletic Boosters. He enjoyed coaching baseball, soccer and softball and for many years, was a camp master for his two son's Cub Scout Troop 324 .
A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he also enjoyed Nascar and Indy car racing. He also shared his passion of the New Jersey Devils with his children and friends. Gary loved skiing, bowling, vacationing with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his children; especially coaching all their sports.
Gary had a passion for life - he loved his family and friends and had a great sense of humor he enjoyed sharing with anyone he came across. He was always willing to help anyone that needed an extra hand.
Predeceased by his father Gerald Lee Rohrer, Gary leaves behind his loving and devoted family; mother Lois Rohrer of Newark, NY, children Max, Sebastian and Kayleigh Rohrer and their mother Nina Rohrer all of South Plainfield, siblings; Kenneth and Debbie Rohrer of Troy, Ohio, Linda and David Snyder of Newark, NY and Lisa Grimes of Phelps, NY, nieces and nephews; Matt and Andy Rohrer, Stephanie and Devon Leoni, Nicole Lanphear and Justin and Curtis Grimes, great-nieces and nephews, Mitchell, Marshall and Danica. He will also be greatly missed by his close and dear friend Lisa Glickman and many, many friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Gary's Memorial Gathering will be at KCs Corner on Saturday January 14, 2017 from 4 pm - 8 pm. Everyone are welcome to share memories, stories and good laughs we have all had with Gary. There will be light food and a cash bar.
